De Jongen die met de dieren schaatste

A lot of children dream about becoming a professional ice skater. For Beorn, this dream became a reality. Together with Edward van de Vendel he wrote children’s book about growing up in nature and finding his love for speed skating.

When Beorn was young his mother would walk with him through the forest and tell him that even though he couldn’t see them, the animals were hiding, and watching, just out of sight behind the trees. He never forgot this message of respect for nature, and years later has written this children’s book to honor the animals and tell his story of going from a little boy skating on a lonely Canadian lake, to finally moving to the Netherlands and racing in the Olympics.

The book is written in Dutch.
